My newest documentary film "Louder Than Guns," will be debuting Friday, May 8th at DCTV's Firehouse Cinema in New York City and Monday May 11th at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville, TN. I'll be doing in-person Q&As at three NY showings this weekend (May 8-9-10).

"Louder Than Guns" features Ketch Secor, his band Old Crow Medicine Show and Public Radio's David Greene (host of "Left, Right & Center"). Made in response to a horrific school shooting in Nashville, this film tries to encourage people to listen to those they may disagree with on this polarized and difficult issue, to find common ground, and realize that we, as a nation, are a lot closer to each other on this seeming impasse than we think. It’s not a political film, it’s a music film. An inspirational conversation on a sad topic.

I am also proud to have the film featured in the PBS series REEL SOUTH, which will be airing a 1-hour television version of "Louder Than Guns” on various PBS affiliates throughout the country beginning on May 11th. PBS will also carry the Reel South series as a simulcast of their live broadcast on YouTube TV and on its PBS app and Reel South website.

My 6-part television series "The Power of Film" which I created with filmmaker Laura Gabbert and features legendary UCLA film professor Howard Suber, continues to stream on MAX after its debut on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) . The series interweaves dramatic scenes from America's most popular and memorable films with Professor Suber’s brilliant teachings about how and why they work. I hope you'll be inspired by it and share it with filmmakers, students, writers, and anyone who loves cinema. We've been shocked at the number of old school BluRay discs and DVDs of the series which have been ordered from our website, even in 2026!

In other news, I've been working this last year with Director Allen Hughes on a 4-part doc series, and last fall I directed and edited a new music film for Imagine Documentaries (both projects are unnounced, but will be shortly). I’m also happy to be working again with director Patrick O’Brien, who’s had ALS for over 20 years, and recently completed an amazing short film (which I edited) "The Hemingway."

Recent podcast or radio interviews I've done include: "THE CREATIVE ASYLUM" with Daniel House, "NITE LITE with Pete Schwaba" (an all-Wisconsin show out of Green Bay), and Steve Cuden's "STORYBEAT: A Podcast for the Creative Mind."
